Been a loooong time since my last update and Steosphere inspired me to write. Well, what am I to update you on?

1. Selsey.

So on the 26th of September, we went back to Selsey. It was like a different reality! The weather so clear and so hot and so beautiful. Photos here. On the Tuesday, I had a bit of an accident; I tripped up the entry steps into the complex and badly bruised my knee. Took about 2.5 weeks to get better and my knee still isn’t *right* but I think that has to do more with my dodgy knee anyway. Martin and Steph came that day and just as they were leaving, a fog descended on us out of nowhere! Dad, of course, was doing his ‘The Fog’ thing.

A bit later on, me and Charlie walked to the complex and took the usual road there. Then, suddenly, we were in the completely wrong place. We had walked as far as the windmill which is in the opposite direction to the complex! We could hear disembodied cheering and the ship foghorns in the distance. The slide from the fairground loomed up out of the fog and the sea was silent and black. It was so weird and eerie. We just stood for a moment or so while the GPS got to work and found ourselves there. I panicked a little cos we were lost. Eventually, we found the road to the front and slowly, the complex’s lights came into view. We went to the beach and looked out; the sea was just pitch black and all you could see was the boulders on the beach where the fog was reflecting light onto it. Where you couldn’t see the lights of the Isle of Wight or Portsmouth and could only hear the foghorns out at sea, it was very strange indeed.

When we came out of the club a few hours later, the fog had completely lifted.

Also that week, I drank mostly alcohol and went swimming. Went to Bognor for a couple of hours and got lost on the way there but our GPS got us there and back. Topped up my tan because of the glorious sunshine. Got some lovely photos of the lifeboat station and inside. The entertainment was really good too although I was really disappointed when they didn’t do Xtina’s bit of the Xtina vs Britney thing they were supposed to do. Leaving on the Friday morning was harder than usual. I hate leaving Selsey as you know but that week was so amazing. I cried as we left the park because it was so gorgeous there and ‘Farewell My Summer Love’ played in my head as we drove away. It took me a few days to recover tbh. We drove to East Grinstead to pick Rio up from Christine’s and got lost on the way there. GPS saved the day yet again.

2. Ghost Adventures, Ringer, American Horror Story, books and my laptop

So, Martin repaired my laptop so right now I am writing this from the comfort of my bed! It isn’t perfect but it beats having no backlight at all! I have also been watching a show called ‘Ghost Adventures’ and it is a paranormal investigation show and I LOVE it. It’s American and OTT but the actual investigating they do is astonishing. They have gathered more evidence since 2008 than Most Haunted got in 9 years. And I love the guys that do it; Zak, Aaron and Nick. They are so funny. I love watching their video blogs and reading their tweets!

Another show I am into is ‘Ringer’ which is Sarah Michelle Gellar’s new show and I love it. It is full of so many twists and turns! And she is totally NOT Buffy in it. She plays twins called Bridget Kelly and Siobhan Martin who couldn’t be further from Buffy. She’s a great actress.

‘American Horror Story’ is another. I’m not even sure what it is about cos it is a complete mindfuck tbh but it is such a great show. Probably the best thing on TV atm. It is about a family called the Harmon’s who moved to LA to get away from their past and it isn’t really going all that well for them. It has ghosts in it!

Also, I am back into books in a big way. Now running out of room for them. I currently reading a book called ‘Witch Light’ (formally called ‘Corrag’) and it is about a young woman who is locked up in a cell accused of witchcraft and it is her story. Read eleven chapters so far and it is beautifully written.

3. My bedroom:

Yeah, my floor is clear and the underneath of my bed is tidy. All of the stuff in the drawer (stuff which has been there since I moved into this room in 1997) is in the loft! The drawer is now full of shoes and the boxes are tidy. There is another pile of books under there as well. My halloween collection is growing and I have a windowsill full of stuff and I got some pumpkin fairy lights.

4. Other stuff:

Missed my last blood donation was I wasn’t up for doing it cos I wasn’t mentally prepared. Doing the next one though for sure. There’s a chance that we are going to Scotland in September for wedding. Didn’t see Will at ITV but we’re seeing him on the 17th of November!

I did this yesterday! Only 4% of people in this country that can do it, do. I think that is shocking. For a few days discomfort, it is worth it for the knowledge that you will be a life saver. That will mean more to you than a bit of dull pain in your arm.

I woke up yesterday morning at 9am and I was literally a bundle of nerves! I felt sick! I was really tired cos I didn’t actually get to sleep until the birds started singing! My appointment was at 14:55 and I got to my nan’s at about 1ish. I had something to eat and at twenty past two, I wanted to walk to Westcroft cos I was feeling so restless and the nerves were really building. In fact, I very nearly chickened out! We were directed to the room and as we walked through Westcroft’s old fashioned corridors, I was struck by nostalgia; it has been over a decade since I last saw that part of it.

We approached the room and my nerves were nearly shot. The nurse asked if I had eaten (had a ham sandwich at my nan’s) and then she told me to sit. Another nurse soon called my name and then my finger was pricked and my haemoglobin levels were checked. I passed. I had started to calm down a little. Then I sat for some more then I was called over to the table thingy. The nurse cleaned my arm and then told me I was going to feel a sharp scratch. The needle went in and then the blood donating began. I lay there for what felt like 2 hours but in reality it was probably for about ten minutes. The nurse kept asking if I was alright cos I looked out of it. I was ok. Just bewildered. I started to panic a few times cos I could feel my arm falling asleep and there was nothing I could do about it. I had to tell myself to calm down.

A nurse wandered over, checking the bag and walking off again; I kept worrying every time they turned around! I kept telling myself that everything was fine and they’d know if it wasn’t. FINALLY, a nurse came over, took the pressure off my arm and started pulling the needle out; I tell you, that was the worst bit. I yelped! I was then told to put pressure on it for 2 minutes. After that, I had the plaster and pressure thingy put on. I was told to stay there until I felt ok. After that, I had to sit at the refreshments table and have 3 cups of lemon squash and biscuits. Chatted to the nurse and told her about how needles bewilder me and make it seem as though I am out of it (the same thing happened when I got my belly button pierced – the piercer kept asking me if I was ok). A little while later, the feeling had started to come back in my arm and reality was returning. My arm was sore though.

I was then told I was allowed to go and I left the practice hall. I told Chris I wanted to have a nostalgic wander around Westcroft as it would be the last time I would see it like that as it is being refurbished. We didn’t though. I wanted to go home lol.

We got outside and Chris said, ‘now that we’re outside…’ and handed me my phone. On it, was an email from ApplauseStore telling me that I will be seeing Will next week at his one-off ITV special thing. Because it is Will and because my emotions were running high, I just cried! Was not expecting to win tickets at all! I rang my mum and told her although her first concern was how I was and how the donating went (which is understandable, she is my mother afterall!). I was completely buzzing from adrenaline and just yapped and yapped at about 30mph.

So got to my nan’s and told her what happened and then my dad picked us up. Dad asked how I was and every thing and then Michael came to plaster the ceiling and then I went to Chris’s.

So the next day. My arm feels more or less normal again though there is stinging from time to time (I over did it when I got dressed). It still feels a bit weak but that’s prolly due to me being aware of it and not using it properly. I still feel so tired though.

I am really looking forward to getting my donor card in the post and finding out my blood type! I hope I am the rarest type which is AB-
