My Olympus E-420

May 31, 2011

This is me and my Olympus E-420 DSLR camera. Here are some pictures I have taken with it since I bought it in 2008. The last time I touched my camera was when Nicolai was here in March. Before that, I was leaning out of my bedroom window taking pictures of Canary Wharf glowing in the distance. Before that, photos of the embers from Carshalton Fireworks’ bonfire. Before that, Martin and Steph’s wedding.

On the 9th of April 2011, it was stolen by Eve England. From my bedroom, from the windowsill where I had left it when I had been taking pictures from my window.

As it goes, I already knew she was a thief because my hair conditioner had gone missing during the week and I knew it was her. She stayed round ours on Friday and on Saturday, I caught her standing around in my room with the door shut. She muttered an apology and left.

The next day, me and Chris had decided to watch Inception and about one hour and twenty minutes in, my brother text me and asked me what make my camera was and I thought about how weird and random his question was. Ten minutes later, my dad called me and asked me again, then went on to tell me that Eve’s mum had found my camera in Eve’s room. I was absolutely furious. I had never been that angry before! Her mum had confirmed with me that it was mine and reported it to the police. On Easter Monday, the police called me and asked me to come to the station to write my statement so off I went, wrote my statement and come home again. On the 10th of May, Eve was due in Court and she didn’t turn up. Letter from the police told me that a warrant was out for her arrest. She went to court, then had to to be back in Court on the 24th of May but guess what! SHE DIDN’T TURN UP! The police have said a couple of times now that they are using my camera as evidence.

To be honest, I don’t know whether to laugh or cry. I just want it back and she’s making it difficult for herself. It has been nearly two months! This should have been sorted out by now! I honestly don’t know what to do. Sutton police obviously have far more important to deal with like the theft of trollies from Sainsbury’s!!!

*Sigh*

Things to say.

March 27, 2011

I really suck at keeping a blog right? Don’t answer that. I actually have a lot to write about but I don’t know how I would say it.

2011 started on a pretty low point. I couldn’t see the light at the end of the tunnel. My money from JSA had been stopped in November. I couldn’t find a job. I had almost no money. I had things to pay for. I was in trouble and it had been getting worse for months because I like to bury my head in the sand. But something changed when the Wheel turned on the 20th of March. That light at the end of the tunnel started off as a pinprick but slowly grew; I just couldn’t see it yet.

In February I decided to change my spirituality. Christened as a baby, I was felt I had a duty to have some sort of believe in Christianity. I love the symbolism of it and I love the faith itself. But I have never been a Christian. As you may have noticed from other entries, I love the earth. I believe in Mother Nature and believe that she is in control. Chris brought me back two books from the charity shop, ‘Wicca’ and ‘Paganism’, as a joke in reference to Buffy and Willow. Something clicked in my head. This is the path I have been on for all of my life. I just didn’t understand it yet. I came to realise that this is what I truly believed in. Everything the book said made sense to me and when I got to the part that said:

“Mining, logging, deforestation, the lowering of the water table, all these short-term economic benefits were persued at the expense of the long-term viability of our planet. Nature was seen as available for exploitation; we were in control. We were wrong. The powers of the elements are not under our control. We cannot hold back the seas that erode our coastlines, the gales that destroy cities and forests, the raging forest fires of over-dry summers, or the earthquakes and volcanoes that threaten to engulf some of our land. Climatic change, global warming, environmental conferences, CFC gases; our newspapers are full of such phrases. Nature is like our mother. We can abuse her and she will tolerate us because we are her children; but there will become a point where she has had enough. The Great Mother gives birth to our species, but she also receives us into death.” – Vivienne Crowley

I knew that is something I have agreed with all of my life. Finally I have found the path that I can follow and one I understand. Some will associate Wicca with witchcraft and they would be correct. But not all Wiccans call themselves witches and not all witches call themselves Wiccans. It is a spirituality where there are no set guidelines or rules (other than the Wiccan Rede and their own Book of Shadows). There is no bible or other holy book. Each Wiccan is free to follow his or her own path. I am going to be an eclectic Wiccan which means I will be borrowing from different traditions and making my own which most definitely suits me! I will have my Sabbat altar where I will celebrate the Wheel of the Year. I will have my Sabbat rituals and will do them skyclad (yes naked) and I will have a cauldron (a symbol for the womb and fertility – not hubble tubble toil and trouble). But I will not be a witch. Not yet anyway :P I will have a besom/broom which is a symbol for luck. Witches got the notion of flying on their brooms from flying ointment which made them high and made them believe they were actually flying! I will celebrate Hallowe’en with more glee than I already do (I knew there had to be a reason for loving Hallowe’en so much!!!). My easter starts on the 20th of March, not when people take the cue from Christianity (even non-religious types!). My Christmas has become Yule and starts on the 21st of December.

My aunt Jacqueline is a Buddhist and she has her own sanctuary in her flat. Some Wiccans borrow from Buddhist beliefs. She is pleased that I have chosen a similar path.

Last week I was at my lowest point. My mum sorted out my money problems but I still had no money. On Wednesday, I got a missed call and it turned out to be from a job I applied for about 2 weeks ago. I was invited to an interview and the job is in Kingston. We arranged it for Friday morning.

I chose my black shirt, my navy trousersuit and my Arabian Glow Teal Waters nail varnish and a matching necklace and eyeshadow. I caught the train at 09:18 and got to Kingston at 10:25. I got to the place and I liked it straight away. Although small, it was familiar to me and had a display of laptop chargers in the counter. I got to see the man at 11:15ish. The interview went very well and I think he liked me because of my experience. So afterwards, I went off and wandered around Kingston for about fifteen minutes before getting bored and catching the train to go home. I was home in just over an hour and I was shattered after waking up at 6:30am.

At around 3pm, I started drifting off to sleep. My phone rang at 3:30pm and I was offered the job. I’m gonna enjoy getting the train in the morning :)

So in one week, my life changed. It is funny how these things happen. As I said, I definitely felt something shift when the Wheel turned and it was Ostara. It is the time of of fertility, birth and renewal. Pretty appropriate that this has happened at this time of year. Do you see why I feel so connected to it? I don’t expect you to understand but it is what I believe in. It is what I have always believed in. I just didn’t fully know it yet (I always had a ‘feeling’ but I never knew what it was).

Another thing I wanted to talk about was the earthquakes and tsunami that occured in Japan on the 11th of March. I feel other than my love for Japan, it is appropriate for what I have been saying about Mother Nature and how she is in control and has always been. I am heartbroken by what happened and I know that they will get back on their feet.

I also have another entry about Selsey and their connection to the sea coming up (I even gathered news articles a while ago!).

Oh! And another thing which doesn’t relate to any of the above. Two words.

LAS. VEGAS.

This trip will be happening in around 2030 (ha) and it will consist of me, Chris, Raj, Chris G and Nicolai having the week of our lives in beautiful Nevada. We will get the plane to Atlanta then shall road trip across (I know it is a long way) to Nevada. We will lose money in the casinos, watch a booby show or three, swim in the Flamingo’s tropical pool, visit the Mob exhibition at the legendary Tropicana and best of all, visit the Little A’Le’Inn and Area 51. It will be amazing and I cannot wait.

Another thing.

Christina Aguilera. The Voice. With Adam Levine.

*Dies of too much fan girl goodness*

THAT IS A DREAM COME TRUE. My two favourite artists working together. I swear that of they collabo, I will die of happiness and will need to be rescusitated(sp???).

Ok, now I am rambling and not making much sense. I had my hair cut too. It is now just below my shoulders and I have a fringe. Yes. I like it and I am growing out the colour from December. It is much lighter than it was as well because I have been using the John Frieda Blonde stuff. Jane said that my hair is in terrible condition and I had to get it into better condition before she will do anything with it. I want blonde highlights again.

Ok bye.

PS:- I guess I did know how to say it afterall.

That is all :)

Oh also:

Nicolai and Rasmus are teaching me so we can speak to each other in broken Danish! It’s pretty easy really, reminds me a lot of German! And my laptop went for repair today!

Summer Two Thousand and Ten

January 3, 2010

Excuse me, trying to de-fog my eyes, they’ve gone blurry….

This summer, my good Danish friend Nicolai is coming over to visit me. He’s staying for a week (in a haunted hotel – mwahaha) so we’re planning stuff to do! Basically, we want to visit London, Brighton, bits of Surrey (probably just Box Hill) and Dover Castle as well as watching movies, going to the pub etc. Ideally, we’d like to spend a day doing each but depending on what we want to do in London, I’m not really sure how we’re gonna do it.

Say it’d be the 19th of June to the 26th of June (Steven and Donna’s wedding is on the 12th and I’m not sure which date Nico will be graduating), then we could do it like this:

Saturday:
Collect Nico from the airport, take him to the hotel. Then after he’s settled and happy, we could take him for a wander around Carshalton, visiting my Nan and Grandad (they want to teach him “proper” English hahaha!) and then going back to my house so he can meet my mum and dad and the “menagerie” of animals (or the petting zoo as Nico calls it). Perhaps then we could go down the pub!
Sunday
Perhaps we could go to Box Hill? We do do with a short walk, nature walk or a long walk, all with self-guided leaflet. Which’ll be good cos I don’t want to get me, Chris, Charlie, Nico and Rio lost on the North Downs! Haha.
Monday
I think Monday would be best for London if we don’t go to Box Hill cos then that’s two days of walking if we’re gonna go to the Tower of London or something. I’d like to go to the Imperial War Museum, I’ve never been there before. Seen it, just never visited it. I suppose really, we should try and see as much of London as we can in a day! London is a big place and it’s not as if we’ll be able to just walk to each place. The Tower is a must definitely.
Tuesday
Tuesday will be Camden day! Shall do all the normal Camden things then gonna go into the Hawley Arms to try and spot the creature known as Amy Winehouse. Then we shall come home and go to another pub. Hopefully not the Coach and Horses. Probably the Greyhound.
Wednesday
Movie day?
Thursday
Dover Castle!
Friday
Brighton!
Saturday
Depending on Nico’s flight, maybe we can do some last minute shopping!

So, that’s the week which isn’t set in stone! Shall have to do a proper plan and get it all set in motion! I can’t wait, it’s gonna be brilliant. Just hope it’ll be a glorious summer week with lots of sunshine and heat!

Roll on summer 2010 :D

Hmm.

November 22, 2009

Erm… right. As to yesterday’s entry, I’d had a bottle of wine and was feeling tipsy! So I woke up a little while ago but that wasn’t the first time I’ve been awake today – I woke up at 9ish and asked Chris for a drink, then woke up at 11 for a while before falling back to sleep.

I then went on to dreaming about Tony Gordon and then Cedric Diggory as Edward Cullen. There was a lot of blood in the first one and someone who was meant to be Hayley was in it. She killed him and then went on to try and kill me and someone else (can’t remember who it was now) but Tony was only pretending to be dead and I saw him alive right at the end. The other one was basically Cedric running around the grounds of a grand house during the day and I was trying to protect him and make sure he didn’t fry.

Oh, there was another weird one with loads of rain and another one where Nicolai was with us and we got into a lift (anyone who knows me knows that I have a mortal fear of them and when I dream of them, it never ends well) and I don’t think Chris was there but my first thought was to hold on tight to him like I usually do in lifts. But anyway, the lift only went down a couple of floors but it sort of span on it’s way down instead of just going straight. As soon as the doors opened, I ran out and went into the street to wait for the others to come out. Nicolai came out, followed by my Nan and Jacqueline, who for some reason, had purple hair with glitter? I think that was it. That was the first one I before the weird rain one and the Tony Gordon one and the Cedric one.

I still feel tired! Gonna have some pasta and tomato Ragu. Chris’ sister had loads of her friends round last night and they were singing and shouting until about 1am. I said that they were lightweights but now I know it’s because they were going somewhere today. I heard Alex shouting about it this morning when I first woke up. Think they’re prolly going to Camden. Chris pointed out that their group of friends was like how we were back in the day but the other way round; we had 2 girls and a bunch of boys. I’ve always got on better with boys, ever since junior school. Funny really how two of my best friends, who were best friends, are completely different now. One of them is a complete and utter chav (which surprised me) and the other is normal (but I knew he would be). As for the other two, one of them is a junior accountant (I only know this cos we got his post one day by accident – I was so proud of him :-P ) and I don’t know anything about the other one. Just found one of them on Facebook and the other one I probably wouldn’t recognise now.

Chris is playing Mario Sunshine on his Gamecube. What were Nintendo on? I always thought the SMS tracks on Mario Kart were a bit odd but the game they were based on…

I should get dressed really but I can’t be bothered.

Oh, hi to whoever is reading my blog through Facebook :-) (although, tbh, it’s easier to just type in the address at the top instead of going to it through my profile). It’s good being able to see how people get to my blog and which links/pages/entries they look at. I can see everything, mwahahaha. Even what people type into Google when my blog comes up. I peaked at 48 views yesterday! The most since the 11th. Most of my views are from people on Twitter though. The Facebook viewer has only looked a couple of times.

So there was more 3D stuff on last night: “The Greatest 3D Moments Ever” which we recorded because the Impressions Show was on. We watched (well I watched) “Friday the 13th Part III” which was rubbish. Not scary at all. My dad said that he has seen all of them lol. There was some really obvious “you’re watching this in 3D” things, such as yo-yo’s coming at the screen, juggling balls, sticks, Jason’s arms. The Frankenstein movie was better with the 3D. Miley’s concert is on now in 3D and it does look pretty cool. Much better than the films. It looks semi-normal without the glasses too – the 3D blue/yellow stuff isn’t as obvious and there’s not as much ghosting. We’re gonna watch the shows on 4OD on the tv.

Nothing else to say now. Add stuff later.

Bleeeehhhh

November 15, 2009

Bored :-(

Wish I had my laptop :-( Fix it for me plz.

I don’t actually have anything to write about tbh. I’m just bored. Watching a really old Hallowe’en Simpsons on T4. The Simpson’s were much weirder then! The older the episodes are, the weirder they are!

Soooo X-Factor tonight! I think it’s all a load of rubbish personally. I don’t think any of them are particularly good. Stacey is the only decent singer left so if I had to choose, she’d be who I wanted to win. I hate Danyl, I think he’s a rubbish singer and I think people are starting to see through it! He just yells. I wish that they’d give him (& the twins) a ballad that he wasn’t allowed to yell but SING. Ugh, he gets on my nerves. Jamie isn’t bad, I liked his version of “Hurt” but nothing since then. Olly was disappointing last night and I love Joe. I think he’s really good and definitely the best male vocalist out of them all! I’m not even gonna comment on Jedward. Who else is there? Is that it? Who am I forgetting? Oh, I forgot about Lloyd! Hahaha. Awww. He’s cute but he can’t sing, the poor thing. He’s got a singing voice, but it’s not big enough or good enough for this type of thing. I mean, for once, I agree with Louis (he’s so annoying and out of touch) and say that he’d be better in a boyband!!! I hope either Lloyd, Twins or Danyl bugger orf tonight but I don’t see it =(

I only really like Dannii and I think that Cheryl Cole is an idiot! Simon Cowell just makes me LOL (especially when I was looking at old Pop Idol videos last night – his hair! Lmao!)

Is this blog actually going anywhere??? I’m just rambling now. What was I going to say?

I was up late last night talking to Allan and Rose whilst waiting to see if anything was happening with Kayleigh (she didn’t text me so I assume it was just a warning sign). I must say, I have had less bizaare conversations! Lol! I like Lumpy’s friends. Probably because they’re not that much younger than me and they’re all pretty mature. I can’t wait until they’re all 18, I’ll take them out clubbing =P (as long as James Steward doesn’t swallow any straws??) I suppose it’s similar in the way that I’m close to Neville, Michael and Christian. I know that I grew up with them but there’s not much difference in age there either, is there? They’re only four years older than me and thinking about it, age gaps in friends aren’t really important. I mean, one of my bestest closest friends is Amanda and she’s 28! We’re on the same wavelength and we like the same things. She makes me laugh because she’s just so funny and I love being around her. She’s a good listener too and gives good advice.

It doesn’t matter where your friends live either, as long as they’re there. Take Nico and Raj for example. Nico lives in Denmark and Raj lives even further away in America! Both of them are my best friends and they’re always there for me and vice versa. Hopefully both of them are coming to see me next year and we’ll go out and drink and have fun. Taking Nico to Brighton for a night! That’ll be amazing.

Why is channel 4 going 3D? They’re so weird but I love them. Definitely my favourite channel. I call it the rebel channel and I asked my mum if they’ve always been the same and she said, “y-yeah, they’ve always been a bit weird.” haha!

Watched a new impressions show last night and it was hilarious! My favourite ones were Davina McCall, Michael McIntyre and Noel Edmonds. The Davina one almost had me in tears! It was so funny and spot on!

Clueless is on tonight! I love that film.

(You can tell I’m running out of things to say because it’s in one sentences!)
