Update to previous post…

June 28, 2011

Well, the rumbling eventually stopped but it is still very lightly spitting.

Two teachers from my area got struck by lightning! What are the chances?!

1. At my old high school: Chris’s sister was standing with her teacher outside by a new building and lightning struck his umbrella. He’s ok but he went to hospital cos his arm felt really warm and weird.
2. A supply teacher at Hackbridge Junior school got struck and taken to hospital – don’t know much about that one but it was mentioned on London Tonight – our ears pricked up when he started with, ‘Sutton Council…’ :P LINK.

Also, they showed the moment on the news when the first loud strike struck Wimbledon; the players and the umpires just froze and then started laughing LOL.

Hello thunderstorms! We have been expecting you!

June 28, 2011

We shared the thunderstorm that Wimbledon had/are having (we live five miles away). I have never heard thunder that loud in my life! It banged rather than rumbled! The sky is still rumbling now and the rain is still coming down but the atmosphere has completely changed from an hour and a half ago. The sky is quite bright now (although clouded).

http://audioboo.fm/boos/398686-wimbl…orm-28-06-2011 < Steph managed to record a bit of it. When there was a HUGE crash, I was on the phone to Daniel asking him to cover the avery and the hutches and I heard it in stereo! I was actually quite scared and my heart was pounding at the noise! My hands were shaking for ages after. I tried not to let him hear that I was starting to panic

The sky has brightened even more now so I think the sun will be coming out soon!

Yes, so… Um… I was meant to update wasn’t I?

January 30, 2010

As to last night, I was tired and couldn’t be bothered to write and fell asleep at 11:30pm… Hmm.

So last Monday(!), I started my new job. I love the building and the area it’s in; it’s the heart of derelict Croydon which if you know me, you’d know that I love that stuff. I can see the near derelict St. George’s Walk from my office window! Gah, I love it. I was told that the whole St. George’s Walk area was due to be demolished and developed but the buyer pulled out. The government is now trying to get people back in the buildings. The kitchen overlooks Pop World and Victorian Croydon (and you know how I feel about all things Victorian!). It’s weird being in a big (half derelict) building rather than in two little units in the middle of an industrial estate in the middle of nowhere. There’s a near empty vending machine and we’re next to an accountants and a computer company. The first, second and third floors are empty! I think the third floor has people on it sometimes cos I’m sure there was a light on at some point during the week. I use the stairs as I hate lifts but we’re not on the 10th floor or anything (there isn’t a 10th floor) so I don’t mind the stairs. They remind me of the marbled stairs you get in school, actually.

So when I started on Monday, there was Jackie the boss and someone else who works on Mondays and Thursdays. I was only there for an hour so that doesn’t count :P

So Tuesday… um… what did I do? Not a lot. Worked out my times as 10am to 2:30pm, Monday to Friday. We looked at the website and decided what we would do to change it. Um… then I went home. Oh wait, I think that’s when we had an induction thing.

Wednesday, someone called Carlon started. I like him but he’s a bit weird and talks to himself, praising himself and telling himself that’s he’s a genius… Not used to having a male in the office. lol. I typed up the thing for the website and started something else (what was it?). Oh yeah, the Croydon Women’s Scheme Information Sheet. Then I went home.

Thursday, I finished the WS thing (I think). Why can’t I remember anything about Thursday?

Friday, I went through the Benefits manual and Googled, Wiki’d and wrote down things that needed updating as the booklet came out in 2004. To be honest, I just think that she wants to give me stuff to do! Most of the manual was still up to date as well.

There was other stuff I was gonna write about but I can’t remember it now. Everytime I answer the rarely ringing phone, I’m always nearly saying Zafron. Lol. Habit, I guess :P

What else has happened this week? Chris started playing my X-Files game and LOL at Polygon Mulder, Polygon Scully, Polygon Skinner, Polygon Lone Gunmen, Polygon Krychek, Polygon Marita and Polygon CGB Spender! They have their mannerisms and it’s high-larious.

OOH! I didn’t write about Manda’s birthday, did I? It was so good seeing her after ages (August)! She looked gorgeous! Took us 45 minutes to get there as we got lost in Croydon (don’t ask). We were there until about 10:30pm but still, seeing Manda was the reason I was there. Now I’m working in Croydon, I’ll see her more I hope!

I keep getting a pain in my ear :(

What else was I gonna talk about? I dunno. Oh, we got a tiny bit of snow last night! I thought it was all over but obviously not. I mean, it’s still snow season and the stuff that we’d get now will be our usual westerly snow, not the hard stuff we got from the east at the end of December/early January so it wouldn’t stick around for as long. The sky is clear blue at the moment. It was -1 earlier but my weather gadget is saying it’s 2 degrees now. It was practically a heatwave with temperatures of 7 degrees the other week!

Anyways. Might add more later (I always say that, don’t I?)

Babies and other boring things!

November 27, 2009

So another baby has entered the world! Last Tuesday we welcomed Miss Scarlett and Sara’s little girl was born this week! That’s her second and I didn’t even know that Sam was pregnant! Is everybody getting pregnant? Is there something about 2009? Is it the year to be pregnant? Good, glad I never was (or will be – touch wood). Never been one to follow the crowd :-P (not that I’m saying that people I actually love and care about do – yes, I’m being biased and they are the exception – purely because I love and care about them). Will be going to see Kayleigh soon so I shall take her card.

Congratulations Sara :-)

So onto other things… I forgot what else I was gonna say now. Oh. Cleaned out Babs’s hutch and half of Teddie’s today before it got dark. Gonna finish Teddie’s hutch (only scraped out the bedding and didn’t get the chance to scrub it) and gonna do Joy’s hutch tomorrow. She’ll be alright because she has two levels in hers. I had to put a pair of gloves on because my hands got cold. What am I gonna be like when it’s really winter? Not looking forward to it at all. Last year, they were inside! This was before they decided that they hated each other and I had to separate them. My dad is gonna be putting more tarpaulin stuff on the hutches for more insulation. They have a cover that comes down the front and hopefully it won’t be as cold as it was last year. I do love my bunnies. See, they are my babies, I don’t need a real, actual baby. They’re so cute and I love their fur, it feels like velvet (Rex rabbits are known as the Velveteen Rabbit). They’re slowly losing their brown summer fur as they’re moulting. They’re actually completely black but developed a brown tint. They’ll be two in April.

I got an ulcer and it bloody hurts. If it still hurts tomorrow, I’m gonna get my dad to get me some Bonjella, unless we’ve got some. Which I doubt actually.

Had a really horrible dream about Selsey yesterday morning. I dreamt that the sea had come right over and the Waterfront Complex was filled with water. All you could see of the park was the sea and the toilet blocks poking out. It was so vivid and I could hear the roar of the sea and the sound of the helicopter blades. Looking closer, I saw a man diving and he had two kids with him. It made me sad cos it really will happen some day and there’s nothing we can do about it. I woke up thinking it had actually happened it was that vivid! Mum and Chris reckoned it was because it was really windy and rainy. Subconciously, that’s what I associate it with. Also, Chris’ greenhouse blew across the patio and knocked over one of his coldframes, knocking his plants to the floor. He was not impressed.

Onto the weather actually. The floods in Cumbria have been terrible. Absolutely devastating and I just could not imagine what they are going through! How awful for them :-(

Oh, talking about dreams, I saw Jazz and Angelo from my story in one this morning and they were together. I just felt like, “aww! They’re my creation and I miss them. Must start writing again!” so yes, I will. My dream made it seem almost as if they were real and not in my head or on Microsoft Word paper.

I feel a bit better after eating that sandwich, I feel less dizzy. All I’ve had to eat today is dinner and I didn’t eat all of that. Weirdly. I’ve lost my appetite and haven’t lost any weight. Which is good, cos I don’t want to. I haven’t spent the last four years putting weight on just to lose it again. I was at my thinnest in 2005. I weighed seven stone and when I see pics of myself from then I cringe! It’s not cos I wanted to be thin, I just couldn’t be bothered to eat. Still feel that way now sometimes. I’m eight stone seven now and it suits me much better. I still want to put on a little more weight cos I’m not happy with it yet. Plus, I want a bit more fat on my hips for when I get my tattoo next year :-P . I lost about a stone in March 2008 cos Chris was a div but I gained it back (and more) pretty quickly. Some of my old clothes fit me much much better now. I have 3 pairs of jeans I’ve had since about 2001 and they fit me now! They never did before. My famous hippy jeans (had them from around 2001 too) fit me like they’re supposed to now. I swear, I would live in them if I could! I adore them and the bottoms of them are frayed and they’re stonewashed now, as opposed to the blue colour they were before. Martin said that on the video of the BBQ in 2003, you can see them hanging on the line.

Dunno what else to say now. Oh, I hope you’re still watching this space ;-)
